OMG. I'm going a little insane here. I mean, I can't believe they're back. It was kind of surreal when they were just releasing teasers because (if they would've been anything like EXO), we could've been in the teaser stage for like months. ¬‿¬ -taking a jab- But of course, with their comeback announced on music shows like Inkigayo, I knew that wasn't gonna happen. ^-^ I'm so glad! OMG, they're amazing. I mean, like I said in the previous post, I wasn't as involved with Shinhwa as the other groups because I got into Kpop later than their fully active days, which was a shame. But I listened to their songs, and most of the singles released by individual members while the group was in hiatus (what with the army duties and such). (: I'm so proud of them and how far they've come. I read in the some of the comments from other Shinhwa admirers that they find Shinhwa to be the group that other, younger artists should try to emulate. Well, of course. I'm sure they'd want to be together and still making music after 14 years too. xD Shinhwa has out-lasted even huge groups like SS501 and TVXQ (much to everyone's dismay), and that's something admirable in the world of Kpop today. c:
Anyway, I may review the album later on. Right now, I'm still a little hung up on the MV~ It's a little strangely made as far as lighting and the whole concept, but that's like the cardinal rule for Kpop MVs lately. “Let's make it as convoluted and confusing as possible just to see what fans get out of it.” ≖_≖ Pretty much all I got from it is that they're fighting some crazy powerful, also conveniently invisible force to get to this girl (“Venus”). And once again, ala the Simon and Martina pet peeve, they're all going for ONE girl. ¬‿¬ Nice~ This song is extremely catchy. It has that addictive factor that doesn't get on my nerves. I mean, they do repeat the little 'You're my lo-uh-uh-uh-uh-ve' thing a lot, but it works in terms of tying the song together. (I may just be biased though. xD) I love the chorus; it'll get stuck in my head, I know it. ^-^ A lot of fans were afraid that Shinhwa would come back from hiatus and not be able to fit into the new era of music, so to speak. But c'mon guys, even their old songs still have the feel of some of the new songs today. And besides, it's kind of a common occurence nowadays to go for the “old school” sound, so they would've been fine either way, just as long as they amped up the... fullness of the sound, I guess. This song has a lot of nice, heavy bass and electronic music style, with that dubstep sound when they do the dancing and have no singing parts. I like it because it works with the autotune they used in the chorus. It fits for me, especially with the current style of Kpop; it sounds like something a newly debuted group like NU'EST (-cough-the comparison again-cough-) would have used as a promotional song. xD I love Eric's rappppp~ :D And OMFG. Finally I have no qualms fangirling over a group! Because naturally, they are all my oppasssss~ (~￣▽￣)~
I can't even say how happy that makes me. I don't have to feel like a pedonoona watching that sexy muh-fucking hip dance~!!!!! -spazz-
HOMG. *A* Let me love youuuuu~ I mean, I'm a 90er, but how do you not find the dorky, sexy men of Shinhwa at least mildly attractive?! xD I had the biggest crush on Junjin and Minwoo~ -merp- I just can't. This dance is so sexyyyy~ xD I'd feel up on 'em~ ¬‿¬
GAWD, I can't wait to see this live! I might die. xD
HELLO. Can anyone else who has been into Kpop for a little longer appreciate this with me. Please?! I mean, this doesn't happen often.
SHINHWA IS MAKING A FUCKING COMEBACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OMGFILUSFM, SHINHWAAAAAA~ <3
Someone spazz with me~! *A*
I mean, I got into Shinhwa late, actually. And all things considered, I'm not as devoted to them as I would be to say....... BEAST... but that's only because they've been apart for a while. What with all the army enlistments and such, Shinhwa hasn't gotten the chance to stand onstage together for some time! But these are not rookie musicians/entertainers who are just getting their grips into the idol world, guys. These are fucking legends who have been at it for a record 14 years. They have to get some credit for that.
I'm seriously having issues coming to terms with the fact that there are fucking 12-year-old Kpop fans who are like “Who's Shinhwa?” or “OMG, their comeback song sounds just like NU'EST, but it doesn't matter because I like NU'EST more.” ಠ_ಠ I get it. You're young; you don't know any better because you probably haven't been in the scene as long (on another note, I feel like it reflects a little negatively on my age that I can say something like this -feelsold-). But don't you dare. Don't you dare downgrade a classic, veteran group's 14-year-anniversary comeback song because it sounds like a rookie groups DEBUT song.
Hell, some of these fans are probably only familiar with Shinhwa through other groups. I would say particularly through Teen Top, considering they were produced by Shinhwa's maknae Andy and have been promoted endlessly with Eric (in their teasers, MVs, etc.) But that does not give them permission to compare. It just... rubs me the wrong way. =_=
On a more positive note, OMFG. The original dorks – yes, even before SuJu (who I love to freaking death) – are baaaaack~ :D I don't care what their song is like, just that makes it amazing. And although I get that members of H.O.T, whose popularity was probably at a more 'legendary' level, came back as well... it's not really the same because they didn't come back together as a group. These guys were on hiatus; they didn't disband and decide to come back separately, and for that, they should be commended. I don't think anyone can really make this a bad thing. XD
Rejoice, fellow fans because their comeback shall make March 24, 2012 a GLORIOUS day.
So this is the list that I started actually writing up when I wanted to write a whole slew of blog posts. I do that. I don't always have to time or the patience to do it at the moment, so I make a list and end up doing it in bulk later on. Oh, not to mention the whole page (front and back) of shit that I brainstormed about with the Block B issue that blew up last week. D:
Unfortunately, college caught up to me. I had paper-after-paper and exam-after-exam (-sigh- oh, midterms), so I didn't really get the chance to sit down and just think about what I wanted to write for myself.
I'm hoping to actually get to it sometime soon. Probably not in the following week because I have more midterms coming up and another humongous paper that's gonna be due, so maybe spring break when I have some down time. (:
Anyway, I just had to get that out. I want to write something, at least. I like having this blog mildly active. :] That's why I add on to that list.
I've never felt so in touch with a group before~~~ -floating on air-
Cho PD retweeted meeeeeeeeeeeee~ -dances around like an idiot-
I admired this man from the very beginning for being so willing to be in touch with his group's international fanbase, but this just takes it to a whole 'nother personal level. Because OMG! He actually READ MY TWEET, READ THE ARTICLE (presumably), AND TOOK THE TIME TO RETWEET ME!
^ I am rawrBEASTLY. :]
I'm just so........ I dunno... Impressed? Touched? Shocked? Giddy? All of the above. xD
I hope what I said didn't actually offend him. Because honestly, I meant it in the best way possible, but hey... I'm just happy he acknowledged it, period. :3 Oh, and what I tweeted originally:
So yeah. :3 I'm so excited for what he's promising us~ BBCs can't wait, BIGBOSS! :D
And I'm so excited to get confirmation for the Block B shirt orders from Mutnam~~~~ ;3 I'm FOR SURE getting one, while I still have the income to afford it. xD At this point, I'm not really too concerned for the price. Unless it goes over 100, I'm chill.......... For now, I guess. ^^; Watch, I'm jinxing myself, aren't I? x__x C'mon, BNS! Answer blockbintl already~ I can't wait any longer for my Block B support merch<3
30-Day D-NA Challenge Day 4 – What is your favorite song? D-NA does not have the biggest repertoire of music at the moment because they just debuted mid-2010... and as of now, they're active in Japan and not really in Korea. Because of this, I do only have one or two favorites from D-NA from their mini-collection. :]
